_About_

We thought a space dedicated to music in Leeds, where you could come to chat, learn, listen, buy, look and just immerse yourself in local music would be amazing. We saw it as a natural extension of the things that are going on in different venues, pubs and rehearsal rooms in little pockets all over the city each night. But we wanted to try and bring these disparate groups and activities together and provide a focal point for local music as a tangible, day-time presence.

The Hub will be here for almost any music fix you might be looking for:

– A cafe/social area (for general geekery and chat, as well as serving a range of coffee, tea, cold drinks, cakes, sweet treats and snacks)

– Regular workshops, master classes, seminars, meeting groups, live sets and other events

– Music tuition (covering lots of different instruments & styles, all taught by active local musicians)

– Ensembles and Groups (sociable taught ensembles and informal groups, open to all levels and interests)

– A shop area with local band merchandise, CDs, vinyl and stocking local music magazines/fanzines

– A CD archive of local music (which is ever expanding and now stretches back quite a way!)

– Acoustic sets and other live music

– Poster space, wanted/selling boards and registers for local teachers/session musicians/function players

Plus loads more!

Address: Chapel Works, Stocks Street, LS7 2AU.

Directions:

Follow the Meanwood Road away from Meanwood itself and towards the centre of town until you reach the mini roundabout. Cross Chancellor Street is to the right and BMF Kitchens and Bathrooms on your left. Go straight ahead at the roundabout and then turn into the second left just after (Stocks Street), turning in front of 232 Meanwood Road. We are the red brick chapel just behind 232, you can see us from the road! Our main entrance is the far left hand door.

We have onstreet parking on Stocks Street and there are also spaces on Penraevon Avenue to the back of our building.
